How much fun can you have with your boots on?

The Hoedown Band is one of the few bands in the country that can supply a full country hoedown and line dance experience. We have many years experience in providing music for a wide range of corporate and private functions.

The band is based in south-east England and has a flexible line-up with a four or five piece concert band for larger events, a six piece band for a 'full on' dance experience or we can slim down to a semi-acoustic duo for smaller, more intimate events.

Yes, we are one the few bands who do both songs and dance music - barn dance and line dance.

The song repertoire draws on Country, New Country and Country Rock to give a very accessible concert experience and we can intersperse the songs with 'yee haw' instrumentals to liven up the atmosphere. Check out our set list to get the full picture.

Or if dancing is more your cup of coffee, our caller and all round dance expert can guide you through Square Dances, Line Dances, Party Dances and lots more. Even reluctant dancers will find it hard to resist joining in and everyone can be part of the fun; there is something for all ages and abilities.

Business Staff & Management
The core band is;

Dawn Moore (vocals/calling) - Our vivacious lead vocalist can really bring out the 'heart & soul' of the music. Dawn has travelled extensively throughout the UK with musical theatre shows and appeared on TV.

Brian Heywood (electric guitar/vocals) -Originally hailing from Australia, Brian cut his musical teeth playing with the top Sydney band Bluetongue. Since arriving in England, Brian has appeared at many music festivals around the UK as well as releasing a number of recordings.

Chris Mottram-Wooster (bass guitar) - Chris is an experienced player in country, jazz, blues, rock, pop, latin and bands.

Mike Vishnic (kit drums) - Mike is originally from East London and brings an incredible level of energy to the band as well as a great deal of percussive showmanship.

In addition to these player we can expand the line up to suit the event;

Liz Scholey is both a qualified dance instructor and dancer Liz brings her proven skills of introducing people at all levels of skill and ability to the world of dance. She has performed all over the world in dance troupes and directed her own touring group - the Pink Cadillacs.

Mark Knight (fiddle), his nick name of 'madfiddler' describes his amazingly dynamic and sophisticated playing style, just as well really when he's playing for The Hoedown Band. His playing credits include Blue Horses, K-Passa, Tricks Upon Travellers and Massive Attack.

Debbie Chalmers (fiddle) is a London based musician specialising in folk/roots music. She has played folk fiddle from an early age, joining her first barn dance band at 14 years old and later going on to study at Birmingham Conservatoire.
