Using palm-sized personal safety alarms fitted with the latest mobile phone and GPS technology, a call for help is just one button away. Each of our alarms is fully compliant with British Standard BS 8484 – the code of practice for the provision of lone worker devices. The GEMshield personal safety alarm is also accredited with the Association of Chief Police Officer’s (ACPO) coveted ‘Secured by Design’ and our MySOS unit is the smallest personal safety device in the UK, making personal safety even more discrete.

•Two-way audio allows our controllers to communicate with the user

Each of our devices provides comprehensive cover by giving you with direct access to our Incident Management Centre, and the array of personal safety and backup solutions we can thereby put at your disposal. What we offer is a complete, flexible service package; for just a minimal monthly service charge.

Our service packages include:
•Free unlimited emergency calls to our Incident Management Centre
•Free personal safety device or mobile phone software application
•5 minutes of test calls and voice memos per month, for your peace of mind so that you know how to connect to our service and to confirm that your details are up to date
•Complete access to our 24/7 secure Customer Service Centre Portal, to manage your user/device details and reporting tools including mapping location history
•Fully managed emergency service. When we receive an alarm, we’ll take care of the whole incident, from activation to resolution
•Dedicated Account Manager and Technical Support team

• BS 8484:2009 – the standard for lone worker monitoring services; Skyguard is certified to all three elements of the standard; the company, the devices, and the ARC;
• BS 5979:2007:Category II – the British standard for Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs); Category II compliance makes possible the highest level of police response;
• BS EN ISO 9001:2008 – the quality standard which relates to the Skyguard’s Quality Management System;
• National Security Inspectorate ARC Gold – Auditor’s scheme encompassing the above certifications;
• BS 7858:2009 – the standard for the security screening of individuals employed in ARCs; all Skyguard employees are screened to the standard and checked against the Police National Computer;
• BS 7984:2008 – the standard which covers alarm response services; relates to the Skyguard National Response Service;
• National Security Inspectorate Guarding Silver – Auditor’s scheme encompassing the above certifications and the device element of BS 8484.
• Secured by Design – Skyguard’s GEMshield device is one of the few in the industry to be certified by the Association of Chief Police Officer’s (ACPO) coveted Secured by Design status.
• BSIA Principle Member – Skyguard is a Principle Member of The British Security Industry Association (BSIA), the UK trade association for the professional security industry. Skyguard also sits on the Lone Worker Committee which maintains standards within the industry;
• Security Industry Association (SIA) Licensed – all Skyguard directors and the IMC Manager are registered with the SIA - the organisation responsible for regulating the private security sector;
• UVDB Registered – Skyguard is fully registered as a supplier on Achilles’ Utilities Vendor Database (UVDB). Achilles is one of the world’s largest and most trusted providers for the monitoring and evaluating of supplier information to support the procurement process.
• Skyguard has been closely involved in the preparation of BS 8484 from initial drafting through all subsequent drafts and discussions, to the finished product and the development of a European-wide standard.
