Since 1997 DSTO has progressed from exclusively training door supervisors to a multi-faceted
operation offering a wide range of training courses within the security and hospitality industries.

Many things have changed since we started training door supervisors, but one thing that has always been,

Staff & Management

Lesley Stephenson is the co - director of DSTO since 1997. She is a recent winner of the Venues awards for Women for Internet Businesses in Bournemouth as she also runs a very successful work clothes shop and online shop. Lesley used to be a door supervisor in Bournemouth and also ran Frontline Security for many years.


Deborah White is the company administrator and has 23 years experience in the Security industry. She has been a door supervisor for 23 years and currently also works as a contracts manager for Azon Security in Bourmemouth. She has previously represented door supervisors in court when they have come across difficulties obtaining an SIA licence. She was so successful that the SIA was forced by the House of Commons to review and change its policies on warning and cautions as a direct result of case.

Damion has been working within the security industry for the last 8 years. He has worked in various sectors such as Static guarding, Close protection and Event security but the sector he has mainly worked in is Door Supervision.

Although Damion has been working within the industry for the last eight years, the industry has been around him throughout his life. Damion's father Marcus Redwood is a very well known and respected veteran Doorman who has been working the doors for more than 30 years. Over twenty years ago Marcus started his own company Marc-One Security which has been successfully trading ever since.

Damion is now a partner and operations manager for Marc-One Security. His role includes overseeing the 28 venues and eighty staff across Kent and Sussex. He is also actively working as a Head Doormen.

In his spare time Damion is a practising martial artist. He has studied various martial arts over the years but now mostly sticks to BJJ, Muay Thai and Western Boxing.

“Following a police career spanning over twenty years which saw service in both uniform and CID and ending in Child Protection, Mike set up Marine and Leisure Services, a private security company specialising in security and investigatory services to the hotel and leisure industry.

About Eddie

Eddie has worked in the security industry since 1999 in a wide range of positions. He has worked in roles from an overnight Security Guard to Close Protection Officer and Security Manager for some large retailers.

As well as being a serving Head Door Supervisor, Eddie holds a Close Protection license and is also a fully registered martial arts instructor with the British Combat Association.

Matthew Stait joined DSTO in April 2013 after being highly recommended form various sources including Aegis skills and one of our current trainers.

He has been an active Door Supervisor since 1998 and went into the security industry full time in 2006 where he quickly progressed to Operations Manager for Armasec Security where he is currently employed. During this time he has taken on challenging roles such as Team Leader for the Saudi Royal Family and various in House CP roles for celebrities and artists. Matt has also worked in most Door Supervisor environment’s from high profile clubs to festivals.

Matt is the owner of a martial arts school and has three running across South Wales and South West England. He has extensive knowledge of Martial Arts and is very passionate in what he teaches.

About Tony

Tony has had a combined career within the security and hospitality industries for over 28 years.

As well as training, Tony still works as a door supervisor, static security and event security on a casual basis.

Tony believes everyone has the ability to achieve anything they want to and that trainers have a responsiblity to help them achieve those goals.
