The West family have been building residential developments across the Thames Valley for over fifty years. In the early 1980s the founders of the company in its present form embarked upon a new policy focussed on small rural developments in Berkshire villages. They designed a range of houses which incorporate the architectural features typical of an old English cottage style home. The ‘Shire Cottage’ was born, became hugely popular in the locality and a major factor in the continuing growth and success of the Company. Westbuild Homes is specifically a housebuilder not a general property developer. The majority of on-site construction work, site management and design is undertaken directly by employees of the Company. As the portfolio of house designs and number of sites has increased the expertise and professionalism has grown in parallel. Supported by an array of custom-made management control, financial and procurement IT systems, construction personnel are able to consistently produce a high level of quality in every home.
