About Us

In 1996 when two young friends left school to complete Apprenticeships in Vehicle Mechanical and Electrical systems, they had no idea how much these Apprenticeships would shape their future lives.

Michael worked for various garages, both specialist and main dealer, throughout his Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships, gaining confidence and a wealth of experience as he progressed. His tutors and employers described his knowledge and attention to detail as outstanding and in 1999 he was rewarded for his hard work by being crowned Advanced Apprentice of the year.

On completing his Apprenticeship, Michael went to work for an international car manufacturer, fitting out and fault finding new cars, satisfying his thirst for further knowledge and training at the top of the industry.

In 2001 Michael decided that it was again time for a new challenge and so, Soar Valley Motor Services - a completely mobile garage service - was born. The business went from strength to strength, thriving with its reputation for excellent service and value for money. The niche in the market became more obvious with each passing year.

Throughout his Apprenticeship, Dean was employed in several local garages, specialising in Volkswagen, Nissan, Renault and Audi and showed great skill and determination during his studies, completing both his Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships.

During the following years, Dean continued to work in the mechanics industry, gaining valuable knowledge and experience, working his way up to manage a local branch of a national hire centre. Looking for new horizons, Dean joined forces with Michael in early 2010.

The reuniting of two old friends saw Soar Valley Motor Services grow and change very rapidly. In order to progress the business in the way they would like, some major changes were required culminating in the creation of The Mobile Garage People.

The Mobile Garage People aim to provide excellent customer service, a wealth of knowledge and a high quality, honest, reliable and convenient garage experience at affordable prices. In doing so, they aim to help to restore customers' faith in the garage industry.
