Smart Fibres is a pioneering British company that was among the first to commercialise the use of Fibre Bragg Gratings.
Smart Fibres design and manufacture FBG based sensors and interrogators at the Bracknell UK facility.
The company was founded in 1998 and one of the first projects was the measurement of strain in yacht masts made of composite materials.
Since 1998 Smart Fibres has grown significantly in size and technical capability. We currently employ 23 people with approximately 50% of the staff involved in engineering and product development.
Our main focus is sensing requirements for the energy industries, in particular the Oil & Gas sector for downhole pressure and temperature measurements.
