Pride Fostering Services is an Independent Fostering Agency registered with Ofsted providing high quality and well supported fostering placements for a diverse range of looked after children and young people.

The company was established in 2009 in order to provide specialist placements for children with complex and challenging needs as well as mainstream foster care.

Pride is part of the Sunbeam Fostering Group, one of the largest and most progressive independent fostering agencies in London, rated as Outstanding by Ofsted.

We welcome foster carers from a diverse range of backgrounds and all ages. We importantly look for carers that are committed to working with challenging and vulnerable children. Fostering will provide you with an opportunity to change a child’s life for the positive which is a shared focus between Pride and all our carers.

Pride has excellent relationships with Local Authorities and we have been successful with recent tender applications in our local area. This includes the Luton, Central Bedfordshire and Bedford framework contact.

Services

We work with a range of Local Authorities and provide care to children from diverse backgrounds and with different needs.

Mainstream foster care

The largest numbers of children fall into this category and include children that may have experienced:
Abuse or harm
Neglect
Loss
Rejection from their parents or family
Separation

Sibling groups

Pride provides care to brothers and sisters who are placed together with foster carers. Carers may require more than one spare room to care for a sibling group. We always try to ensure all sibling groups stay together where possible.

Parent and Child

This type of placement is provided to a mother and/or father, who are often in care themselves, and their child/ren. Foster carers aim to provide support and guidance to the parent(s) and help them develop parenting skills. Foster carers are often asked to contribute to observational reports and provide information about the level of care the young parent is giving to their child.

Children with Disabilities

Pride has specialist foster carers who have experience and skills in caring for children and young people with physical or learning disabilities and/ or who require specialist medical care and support.

Complex / Intensive Fostering

We have complex placements for children who often display challenging behaviour and who require a high level of support and supervision, often with therapeutic input such as play therapy or child/adolescent psychotherapy.
