Staff & Management

I have been an animal lover all my life – in fact as a small child I was bitten several times and snapped at many more as my urge to stroke any and all dogs I encountered was just too strong to ignore!

I was 15 when we got our first family dog (Jamie, a Sheltie) and I haven’t been without a canine companion since. Next came Benson (a German Shepherd/Collie cross), then Thwaite a Lurcher/Irish Wolf Hound, who I found abandoned at Thwaite Mills, hence his name. My current boy Zak is a German Shepherd/Husky cross so far as we can tell. He came to me from the Dogs Trust 8 years ago and has been the light of my life ever since. He’s very bright, demanding, funny and totally adored.

I am a registered Dog’s Trust volunteer and walked dogs for them almost every Saturday for 3 years until their move from Eccup to the other side of Leeds. I still help out at their annual summer fayre.

I have experience of dealing with large dogs, dogs with health problems, older fragile dogs (I carry my 30kg pooch up to bed every night!) and dogs with attitude problems that require muzzling. Down the years I have also had rabbits, hamsters, mice and have cat sat to cover friends’ holidays.

Having sat at a desk for the last 30 years I’ve decided it’s time to strike out on my own and combine my twin passions of animals and walking - hence Mooches 4 Pooches was born.

I am fully insured (including key cover), police checked and can assure you that your dog will be in safe and loving hands during its walks with us.

Please just ring or email us for a quote or to arrange a FREE, no obligation initial home visit.
