Our business was founded over 30 years ago, incorporated as a company in March 1990, and offers a full range of asbestos services, including consultancy, building surveys, fibre counting, bulk sampling and producing asbestos registers, either as a written report or on an electronic database, and providing asbestos awareness courses. Monitor also carries out LEV testing, noise, silica tests and other occupational hygiene services.

Our team of experienced analysts are responsible for airborne dust monitoring and identification of asbestos fibres to all sections of industry, including Local authorities, Health Authorities and Universities. We participate in the RICE and AIMS quality assurance schemes and are UKAS accredited for Asbestos Fibre Counting, Asbestos Air Sampling, Asbestos Fibre Identification, Asbestos Bulk Sampling and Surveying.

Monitor has been involved in asbestos related consultancy for a wide range of clients in both the public and private sector and has over 200 clients.

Qualifications

Monitor Environmental Ltd operates a quality management system in accordance with UKAS requirements for which we are successfully independently audited. Our geographical coverage includes the whole of the UK and Courtaulds Textiles in Morocco, Spain and Portugal.

All our analysts are highly experienced and qualified in either the BOHS P401 (Identification of Asbestos in Bulk Samples (PLM), BOHS P405 (Management of Asbestos in Buildings), BOHS P402 (Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos), BOHS P403 (Asbestos Fibre Counting), BOHS P404 (Air Sampling & Clearance Testing in Asbestos), BOHS P601 Testing of LEV systems or the advanced BOHS S301 (Competence in Asbestos).

Staff & Management

We assure you of our quality of surveying work and satisfying the client’s duty of care by ensuring that we have an effective quality management system, which is independently audited by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation System). We also have dedicated personnel who are fully conversant with current regulations and how they affect your business. The laboratory, at all times, will provide its clients with a service complying with our UKAS accreditation, and to comply with the international standards EN ISO/IEC 17025, EN ISO/IEC 17020, EN ISO/IEC 14001 and EN ISO/IEC 18001.
