Inter Care-Medical Aid for Africa is a unique charity based in Syston, Leicester, that tackles some of this waste helping to reduce NHS costs and save African lives.
We recyle good quality GP returned medicines that are at least 15 months from their expiry.
We supply over 100 health units in rural Africa with these medicines direct to source and free of charge. Inter Care receives no Government funding, but with the help of over 40 trained volunteers and only 4 part time staff keep costs low.
For every £1 donated we can continue to reduce waste and send £4 worth of aid to those gravely in need.
Staff & Management
We have 4 part time staff. This includes General Manager-Diane Hardy, Resources Manager-Carol Austin, Fundraiser- Harry Ludlam and Bill Johnson-Warehouse Assistant.
We also rely upon the expertise and knowledge of the Board of Trustees. Without the support of over 40 trained volunteers who screen and sort medicines we would not be able to operate and provide this vital lifeline.
