Business Description

G Crook and Sons Limited is a holding company controlled by Barry Crook. This business, directly and through holdings by Barry Crook, owns and controls a number of activities including plant hire, recycling, landfill, auto salvage operations, The George Albert Hotel, Souther Counties Shooting, Tyre World, The Clay Pigeon Raceway, and the Wardon Hill Caravan Park.

GCS is a well-established business with its roots in plant hire. It has grown over time to encompass a range of activities initially based around plant hire and, more recently, the use of that plant on its own sites. GCS runs an inert landfill site near Dorchester which incorporates a well-established range of recovery activities associated with crushing and screening inert materials.

More recently, GCS invested in a trommel / picking station to act as the core of a Materials recovery Facility (“MRF”). It has also acquired an auto salvage operation formerly known as Angel Autos and has also taken on new premises in Poole (Dorset) to house it's New Holland Franchise offering Hire, Service and Sales.

Business Services
As a group the Business supplies Plant for Hire, Agregates and Mixes from Stone to Topsoil as well as Logistics for the transportation of Plant and Agregates, we also supply workshop services for Plant Machinery, HGV/LGV Class 1,2 & 3 and also workshop repairs for PLG at both Lower Glebe farm and Wardon Hill, G Crook and Sons also provides bespoke engineering and procurement services due to its long standing relationships within the trade sector.

We also offer a wide range of hospitality services from the largest grand prix karting circuit in the south west to leisure breaks at the The George Albert Hotel and also the Wardon Hill Caravan Park which is all situated on the grounds of one of the largest privatley owned shooting grounds which was recently picked as one of the Olympic training Grounds for 2012.
