FloorSand UK is a limited company that specialises in floor sanding, refurbishment & deep cleaning of wooden floors in both residential and commercial properties.

FloorSand UK in its current form was established in November 2009, although we have been carrying out floor sanding for over 20 years.

We operate primarily in the North West of England, offering floor sanding in Manchester, floor sanding in Cheshire, floor sanding in Stockport, floor sanding in Warrington, floor sanding in Crewe and floor sanding Staffordshire, extending to nationwide floor sanding for larger commercial projects.

All our floor sanding staff are trained in-house and we have a number of floor sanding teams, enabling us to carry out projects of any size.

Our company ethos is to offer the very highest standards both in terms of quality of our floor sanding work and customer service. To this end, we invest a lot of time into each worker and also aim to go ‘above and beyond’ when it comes to what is offered to our clients.

Services

- Wood Floor Sanding & Varnishing – this is the standard process, where solid wood, parquet and engineered wood floors are sanded and coated with 2-3 coats of commercial grade flooring lacquer. Where contamination may be an issue, a primer is applied prior to any varnish. Other floor coatings such as oil and wax are also available.

- Floor Fillling (Resin Filling) – an epoxy resin is mixed with the finer dust from the floor sanding. This mixture is used to fill the gaps between the boards. Any excess sanded off, leaving a fully filled floor.

- Wood Strip Filling – appropriate for gaps of more than 5mm or where boards are not tongue and groove. Thin wood strips are fitted between each of the boards, prior to sanding and varnishing.

- Floor Staining / colouring. Wood coloured stains are applied to a sanded floor when a client wishes to have their wood floor darker than it is currently. However, pretty much any colour stain is possible e.g. red, pink, green, blue.

- Bitumen removal – often present on older wooden floors. Although slightly more time consuming that the standard wood floor sanding and varnishing process, it is possible to successfully remove bitumen by sanding and varnishing.

- Hearth removal & re-stitch. This involves removing concrete hearths and fitting reclaimed floorboards to the area.

- Wood Floor Special Effects – it is possible to create a vast number of effects to wooden floors. We have an area of our business that concentrates on creating wood floor special effects e.g. A girl’s bedroom sporting a pink and white finish, incorporating a theme such as Cinderella within the design, sealed with lacquer. A boys bedroom could have a Stardust Space theme with fluorescent 'glow in the dark' finish

- Floor Cleaning – using a specialised commercial floor cleaner, we use wood floor cleaning solutions to remove all dirt and debris from a floor, without removing any of the lacquer. We then coat the floor with a Wood Floor Protector. This rejuvenates the appearance of the floor. This process is used either for a budget conscious client, where fund for a full sand may not be available or as maintenance, to extend the life of a floor we have sanded and varnish, ensuring it stays in optimum condition.

We also offer our Floor Cleaning Sanitisation Service. We have automatic floor cleaning applicator and dryer machines and have recently used these very successfully on cleaning contracts at Manchester University and Manchester Museum. The floor cleaning machines that we have cleans stone, tile and ceramic flooring, together with safety flooring, such as that found in hospitals, doctors, vets, dentists etc.

- Wood Floor Buff & Coat – sometimes we encounter wooden floors that are still in good condition but they are looking slightly tired. In this instance, it may be possible to avoid a full sand and simply buff the floor, prior to coating with commercial grade varnish. Buff & coats can also be part of an ongoing maintenance programme.

We offer everything from floor sanding consumables (floor sanding belts, floor sanding discs, rollers, floor varnishes and lacquers, stains etc.), to large floor sanding machines, together with all the tools and equipment required for floor fitting.

We offer free nationwide next working delivery on all orders over £150 received before 2.30pm. Morning or pre-10am delivery is also available for urgent flooring materials orders.

Staff & Management

We have staff members to deal with each specific area of our floor sanding business. Firstly, our office based staff deal with floor sanding sales and marketing, floor sanding research and development, accounts and finance, HR and floor sanding quoting. We also have programmers dealing with the ongoing development and SEO of www.floorsanduk.com.

Secondly, we have our site based floor sanding operatives. All our workers are fully trained in floor sanding, floor filling, floor staining, floor fitting and all other associated areas of the business. We are fully committed to staff floor sanding training. All our staff are trained in house and we undergo periodic performance review, together with ongoing floor sanding training, to ensure all floor sanding staff are up to date with technological and product developments in the floor sanding market.

Finally, we have floor sanding site supervisors, who operate to liaise between our offices and sites, ensuring that our floor sanding business operates with maximum efficiency.
