At Dudley Zoological Gardens there’s a chance to get closer to the world’s rarest animals.
Visitors can discover the magic of tigers, lions, lemurs and penguins with exciting new experiences at the award-winning West Midlands, UK, tourist attraction.
Lemur Wood is home to more than 30 of the enigmatic creatures and there’s an opportunity to meet ring-tailed, collared, black and white and redruffed species as they greet visitors to their one-acre woodland home, while at Wallaby Walkthrough there’s a chance to get really close to family groups of these mini marsupials.
Monkey Tails offers a walkthrough rainforest where dozens of small primates roam free, with white faced saki monkeys, goeldis monkeys & squirrel monkeys.
At DZG you’ll see some of the world’s most endangered animals, many of them face an uncertain future in the wild, but thanks to our successful breeding and conservation schemes these magnificent creatures have survived.
Come and say hello to our baby Bornean orang utan - the first great ape to be born at DZG for 19 years!
Our big cats are very precious - we have a pair of snow leopards and our three Asiatic lions are the pride of Dudley and roam a one-acre paddock. And two grrreat newcomers are Sumatran tiger, Daseep, and her playmate, Amur tiger, Tschuna.
We’ve the largest parent-reared colony of rare Humboldt Penguins in the country, currently standing at 70-plus and visit them in Penguin Bay, a walkthrough enclosure complete with pool and beach where visitors can get up close to family groups and chicks.
We also hold a daily birds of prey display in the courtyard of the 11th century Dudley Castle, in the heart of DZG.
For younger zoo crew members there’s a whole animal kingdom to discover down on the farm where you can meet giant English rabbits, chicks and guinea pigs and say hello to kune-kune pigs, alpacas, pygmy goats and micro pigs Harley and Poppy.
DZG has something to offer all the family - meet and greet your favourite animal, follow our intrepid explorer, Dr Dudley, on his Creature Features or join our Keeper for a Day scheme where visitors shadow keepers throughout the day. Try our Close Encounters where you can tickle a tapir or feed giraffes, chimps, big cats and penguins, too.
