dapa – dance and performing arts, is based at Eanam Wharf in Blackburn. The canal side wharf studios house two beautiful dance studios, music & singing room, changing area, baby changing facilities, and coffee bar.
Under the leadership of Jayne Vernon, an ex professional dancer, and Graham Vernon, an ex British Latin American champion, both are highly qualified experienced teachers, examiners and adjudicators.
This is a friendly family centre with all open sessions to comply with child protection legislation and parents welcome to watch their children’s development.
Classes are taught in a wide variety of subjects to children, teens and adults. We pride ourselves in welcoming children with learning difficulties into all classes. BSL and SSE are offered at all ages.
Childrens and teens classes are for fun and fitness. Adult classes offer a fun, social way to improve fitness and enjoy dancing with partners and friends.
For those wishing to pursue a career in performing arts a specialist, more intense training is offered. Careers events and private advice is offered to parents and students. Many dapa students have progressed to performing throughout the world as dancers, actors, singers and teachers.
Our aim is help people to develop and grow personally as well as get fit, through the use of performing arts.
Many performance opportunities are offered every year to all students in shows, demonstrations and charity events.
DAPA also prides itself in being the only Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy in Lancashire specialist pre – school training for little stars with big dreams.
