Originally established in 2004, DoCare is a family run business borne out of our own experiences of sourcing care and support for an elderly relative. From the outset we have been committed to reinforcing the positive aspects of support services in Bristol, Cheltenham, Cirencester, Dursley, Gloucester, Stroud, Yate and surrounding areas, helping those with whom we work to ‘make every day a better day’.
Business ServicesWe understand how important it is for our clients to live independently and our range of support services for adults and older people are designed to deliver this. The following provides an outline of the services that we can offer, however we treat each client individually and as such will work with you to tailor a programme to meet your own needs.
Shopping Services

Personal Support services (including personal hygiene, bathing etc)

Support Services (sitting service and night support)
Accompanied Visits (Doctor, Hospital, Social Outings)
In addition to caring for elderly clients, we also cater for the needs of adults with physical disabilities, mental health and terminal illnesses as well as temporary care during recovery periods. All DoCare staff are trained to support you and your family, working alongside health professionals in order to best provide an effective care programme.

Business Staff & ManagementSteve Mills, Managing Director
Steve is a passionate advocate of the homecare sector, and is on the board of the sector’s professional body, the United Kingdom Homecare Association (UKHCA). He has a dedicated and highly experienced team around him, which frees him up to spend time with clients and staff to find out how DoCare is performing and get some great ideas on improving the service.
Una Mills, Co-Director
Una is a strong believer in homecare, and proud that DoCare is also able to offer palliative care for a number of elderly people, so they are able to remain in their own homes until the end of their lives.
Sue Mothershaw, Communications Manager
Sue’s extensive marketing and communications career was mainly in software, but after relocating to the South West and switching to homecare she found a sector she was passionate about.
Laila Valentine, Financial Controller
All things financial come under Laila’s watchful gaze. She’s been with DoCare for more than five years, organising payroll, client payments and accounts, and is firmly in charge of the petty cash tin.
Stacey Nash, Area Manager for Bristol, Yate & Kingswood
Stacey went straight into a career in caring after leaving school, inspired by her mother and grandmother.
Kerry Ann Lees, Area Manager for Cirencester & Cheltenham
Kerry-Ann has been with DoCare for five years, and has worked in the care sector for more than 15 years. She’s qualified to NVQ level 3 in care, and is currently working towards QCF level 5 in leadership and management. Kerry-Ann is also DoCare’s primary dementia carer.
Michelle Abbott, Area Manager for Stroud, Dursley & Gloucester
Michelle’s career in caring has so far spanned 13 years, with the last five at DoCare. She has NVQ level 3 in care and QCF level 5 in leadership and management.
